Een definitief verbod is een juridisch bindend document.
Completion of the objection process regarding the proposed acquisition of Solvinity
A definitive prohibition is a legally binding document.
1. On May 25, 2026, the planned acquisition of Solvinity by Kyndryl was prohibited by the Minister for the Digital Economy and Sovereignty. Solvinity and its majority shareholder Host Lux S.à.r.l. lodged a notice of objection against that decision on 11 June 2026.
2. In that objection procedure, the decision to prohibit the acquisition was reassessed and all relevant facts and circumstances were analysed once again, and further investigation was carried out. In the objection procedure, I concluded once again that the proposed acquisition could pose a threat to the public interest as referred to in Article 14a.4(1) of the Telecommunications Act and that a prohibition is necessary to protect the public interest.
For more information see the letter to parliament of 13 October 2026 in which the Minister informed the House of Representatives about the above.
